A young pilot, newly graduated from training, joins a seasoned Flight as they await the inevitable call to scramble. Over the course of a single day, he watches the skies above southern England erupt in deadly dogfights. After each grueling battle, the men return to their dispersal hut, only to discover another comrade has failed to return. Refusing to give in, the pilot and his fellow airmen band together, taking to the skies again and again, determined to defend not just their airfield, but their entire nation.
